Catawba got in on the Black Is Beautiful game for 2021, and as I’ve always said about BIB: See a can, buy a can. Snatched a 4-pack of this directly from the brewery, and got to guzzling all 8.3% of its RIS personality. It’s pretty “light” for an imperial, at 8.3%, and I’m not entirely sure I dug some of its bitterness. But, if I delete the bitter trait that this beer and I share, then it’s extremely smooth with lightly chocolatey and coffee flavors that are easy going on the soul and the body. It’s just the light bitterness at the end that reminded me of me. And who wants that nonsense. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL. - Ryan
