Honestly, I would almost never to go a Gordon Biersch et. al. I do appreciate that these types of spots all have their own brewers, and I know plenty make amazing beer, and I know of some folks at world-class breweries who started out at spots like this. I just have a mental conflict with the corporate shtick. It is what it is. But! Our new buddy Nick is the brewmaster at the Louisville location, so we swung through to bang on some of his creations as well as some of the lauded recipes from higher up the corporate chain. Some beers were dope as hell, some were rather flat for my palate. We were too early for the fest beer and they were out of the pils, but the hazebois Nick is making here are seriously sooooooo crushable. Ang wasn’t impressed at first, but after her initial pint, she changed her mind and started wrecking shit. I agree that those were good, but I was in it for the schwarzbier and I felt like it was good but could have been fuller in flavor. Now, we just have to go back when Nick is actually working so we can annoy the shit out of him while pounding whatever’s on tap that day. Also, when we got out of our Uber down the block, a stabbing outside the car was just wrapping up. So, that was fun. - Ryan
