My first beers after SOBERTOBER were a pair of Halloween-themed sours from Heavy Seas aptly named Trick and Treat. While I am historically both obnoxiously and publicly against sour beers in general, I felt the need to connect with them because I took all that time off, and thought that maybe it would taste different given the holiday and the new underwear I was wearing. (If you’re curious, they are boxer briefs and they have penguins on them. My wife has the same pair but in panty style. Thanks, Me Undies!) I am super-galdarn happy to report that not only did I survive these, but I called my friends Kurt and Jason over to help me drink them, and DUDE. WE LOVED THESE! I was partial to the sour orange Trick, but maybe that’s because I normally hate orange in beers and Halloween is always Opposite Day. It could also be my undies. BUT THAT CHERRY WAS LISH SHITS, TOO! And we had so much fun laughing that we got pulled over IN MY LIVING ROOM! Best end ever to a shitty SOBERTOBER. - Joel
