An important repost from Joel: I asked my handy + talented friend George if he could think of a cool way for me to display the #hopsforhope cans I have been hanging on to since the April tapping and he galdarn NAILED IT. As oddly dramatic as it sounds, the beer collab between Old Irving and Hope For The Day was one of the turning points in my life where all of these things that I was working on independently of each other were starting to intersect. My love of beer and independent craft breweries with the Hopsmash gang alongside my friends Ryan, Ang & Ben, and then the suicide prevention work with the #NSPAMP project as an alderman, they touched tips right as I was starting to become more and more involved with Hope For The Day, which then magically led to becoming an official part of the organization a few months later. While professionally I’m super proud of this beer from all sides, on a personal front I’m super honored and thankful to have become super tight forever let’s change the world together friends with everyone we’re changing the world together with. As much as the stuff that sucks right now sucks right now, knowing you’ve got a team and a goal and an eye on the stars is comforting. Looking forward to more beer collabs in 2020 with some amazing breweries with even more of the people that inspire me to keep pushing joy upon the world by any means necessary.
