On our way down from Estes Park, I wanted to stop at the old Oskar Blues location in Lyons, CO. This space has seen some shit! But it’s also still very popular despite having other, newer locations around. It’s two stories, and the staff recommended we chill at the bar in the basement, which was more dive-bar-ish and more our style. Being the responsible driver I am, we only tried a couple...but they were damn good! I liked them better than all the other beers one would normally see canned and in circulation. I’m not gonna lie...Oskar Blues is not my favorite brewery out there. I almost always find their brews to be solid but not amazing. (Ten Fidy not withstanding.) Alas, maybe that’s what they want. In any case, the ones we had were damn good and I’ll always look forward to tipping back new styles when I see them in the wild. It was really cool to visit in-person and hang for a bit.
