Rant before beer. đ¨ âCold IPAâ is one of the dumbest beer marketing terms of all time. I donât care what you tell me, itâs a fucking IPL. I get that the âIPAâ name is easier to sell these days, but goddamn people need to be more open to the glory hole that is the IPL. Itâs probably my favorite beer style. And, I donât wanna hear whatever bullshit nuance or slight change that cold IPA makers want to use to say itâs not an IPL. Itâs a fucking IPL. The âhigher ABVâ shit doesnât fly either; Sudwerk in California has been making single and double and triple IPLs forever (and theyâre god-tier).
Right, so now that we have that out of the way, let me introduce you to the first beer Iâve ever had thatâs labeled a cold IPA. Itâs by Riverlands, which anyone whoâs breathing knows you can trust âtil the end of the world. Oh, also, itâs a collab with the also-fresh Brother Chimp, as well as 93 Octane, whom Iâve never heard of until I read this can. And, my god, they completely and utterly destroyed this beer. In all the right ways. Crisp AF and hoppy AF and clean AF with so much gosh darn flavor that I stripped down completely nekkid and rolled around in the mud and didnât even need to wash myself after because of the perfect shine on this bish, which was now inside me. This beer is a GODDAMN QUEEN. đ¸ A great IPL that I want over and over again. In fact, I went back to buy another 4-pack and crushed that, too. đ - Ryan
