This was May 1st, 2021. The release of Things We Don’t Say IPA at Eagle Park in Muskego. It was a subdued afternoon of high winds, two-hour drives (each way), and grumpy children. But, it was incredible seeing and hearing the response to our little beer collaboration project to talk about mental health in the craft beer industry. I had my first pour of the Eagle Park recipe I had spent so long reading and talking about, and the first taste was absolute bubble gum perfection and I cried tears of holy shit the beer is fucking money balls. And I paired it with another Eagle Park lager because I love EPB lagers like I love EPB. AND I LOVE EPB. Sure sure I barely took any pictures because I drove two hours and was there for an hour and ten minutes and then drove home two more hours, but we are super-balls honored to have worked on this project and it’s been an absolute joy seeing people talking about their brains in this industry because we shouldn’t be losing our beer friends to suicide, goddamnit. And since no one else wanted to talk about it, we did. Also. Let it be known. I love Nicole Henzel from Malteurop like a member of my family and I’m thankful AF for her friendship.
