Highland - Imperial Cold Mountain Winter Ale

Highland - Imperial Cold Mountain Winter Ale

I usually don’t get winter warmers because I avoid cold places like the plague. Alas, we’re actually in the midst of a plague right now, and I’m in a cold place because I’m a masochist in ways I didn’t know I was. Fortunately, my buddy Daniel sent me the imperial version of Highland’s Cold Mountain, which was a smart move because no winter warmer should have anything less than 7-8%. Let’s be real. I am totally feeling the maltiness and sweetness up on the mountain, and I hope I don’t regret saying this, but I actually found myself wishing that it had even more winter spice in it. Tastes good AF, but more like pre-holidays than holiday-holidays. Santa’s boo wants to go up another notch going forward. P.S. That pumpkin pie from Claudia Sanders is probably THE BEST pumpkin pie I’ve ever had. Needs more par-baking on the crust, but the filling is simply legendary. Didn’t even need Cool Whip. But I still added it. Because Cool Whip. – Ryan
